Our mission is that every village of Liberia will have a healthy church. Most of the towns and villages of Liberia have no church. We have worked in over 200 villages in 9 counties; there are 8,700 villages and towns in 15 counties. This month we made 51 mission/ministry trips, visiting 71 villages and other locations. We went to 2 new villages. Many of the places we visited multiple times, our longest trip was 10 days, shortest a few hours. We printed and distributed approximately 18,000 pages of teaching material and distributed hundreds of Bibles, 23 were baptized and 21 completed our extensive Bible study program. We showed the Jesus film 2 times to over 700 people. Several factors affect how many mission trips we can go on each month; illness, injuries, motorbikes repaired, the availability of gas and money are some.
Some highlights of the month
The harvest is plentiful! One of our teams entered into a new territory. Joes Village is churchless… for now. The team was excitedly received. After some days of teaching and preaching 16 were baptized, 20 others are promising to be baptized when they return. The team leader reported, “Many of the people are blind to the word of God but the Holy Spirit is in control.” The team hopes to return next week to continue evangelizing and discipling and to help them start a church. We often hear from the people, “What took you so long.”
New technology! The world is changing! New technology even reaches deep into the interior of Liberia. In most villages there is at least one person who owns a radio that can accept an SD card (the memory chip in your camera is an SD card). It works just like a CD or a pen drive. We now have the NT in audio along with 60 different Bible stories for most of the Liberian languages. We download into the card the NT and Bible stories for the language of the village. Included we give a paper showing what is on each track. The people love them. Most of the remote villages we work with are about 95% illiterate or more. Word travels fast, people are finding out what we have. The requests are rapidly increasing. We are unable to keep up with the requests.
Many refugees are returning to the Ivory Coast. The training and material we provided them while here in the camps they are taking back with great enthusiasm. This month we printed 18,000 copies of training material and still we cannot keep up with the requests.
Praise God! Don and Melanie Riley and their 4 children are ready to move here to join us. They were delayed because their house wouldn’t sell. It has sold! They plan on arriving in May.
Brandon Hicks and Allison Smith (no relation) are now back in the states. Brandon spent 3 weeks with us and Allison spent 3 months. They were an encouragement and blessing to us here! They came to us in obedience and with great sacrifice. They experienced our hardships and the blessing of our unity and fruit. Their lives have been changed. They have spied out the land and would love to share pictures and tell stories of their discoveries. Ryan Cain, from Ohio, has just arrived. He will be with us for 3 months. He also is a sacrificial disciple of Christ. He knows God wanted him to come. Be in prayer for him. Pray that God will use him to mature and encourage us and that he too will be matured and encouraged; “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpen another.” Pr 27:17

Answered prayer: Judah, my 2 year old grandson, has had 6 series of chemo treatments for the large cancer around his heart. For the first time there is a positive response to the treatment. The tumor has shrunk! Praise God!
