March '14: "The stronghold of Satan is under attack!"

The mission of Jesus; “not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Pet 3:9 NIV), is also our mission.
Our mission is that every village of Liberia will have a healthy church.  Most of the towns and villages of Liberia have no church. We have worked in over 300 villages in 12 counties.  In March we made 202 mission trips, visiting 121 villages and other locations and we made many other local mission trips. Some of the towns we were in multiple times. We went into 15 new communities. Our longest mission trip was 10 days the shortest a few hours.  44 were baptized and 82 completed our extensive Bible study program.  12 completed our 2 week Bible Institute school.  Several factors affect how many mission trips we can go on each month; illness, injuries, and availability of money are some.

Some highlights of the month

The fiercest man of Boe’s town:  Boes’s Town celebrates!  The fiercest man of the town came and listened to the town gathering of WSL field leaders.  He heard, believed, repented and was baptized.  The strong hold of Satan is under attack!

Jason Nightingale:  From Wordsower came to visit us all the way from Oregon.  He counseled, consulted, preached, taught and spoke from memory much of Revelations.  We were greatly blessed and encouraged.  Plans are he will return in February 2015 and spend two weeks training us and our leaders at a deeper level.

The Last Well:  Todd Phillips and Scott Drury, leaders of The Last Well, came with a professional film crew.  They came to film a documentary on the drinking water conditions of Liberia.  Their mission is that every town of Liberia will have safe drinking water and hear the gospel this decade.  They have a big challenge ahead of them.  We are praying to see how we can work together.

Rob Schaefer:  He spent about 1 year with me in the refugee camps of Ghana in 2008.  He now lives with us.  He bought a one way ticket to Liberia.  Our Lord has given him the mission of going to the least of these.  His plan is to take in handicapped children that no one wants.  He also has the vision of finding and setting free children in slavery.  The primitive beliefs of 1000’s of years are still present here.  Commonly when children are born handicapped they will poison them.  If they live it means that they were not demon possessed.  Those who do live now enter life much more handicapped.

Pynes Town’s demonic stronghold:  It has gone underground but is still alive.  Oddly the demonic society respects me and is afraid of me.  Recently I was in the town when they were coming into it from the bush.  They had in a jug the preserved head of a man.  When they discovered I was in the town they all ran back into the bush, hiding.

Ebola: The Ebola virus can cause severe viral hemorrhagic fever outbreaks with a fatality rate of up to 90%.   There is no treatment or vaccine. In Guinea, 111 suspected cases have been detected.  It started in the remote forest region but has traveled into the cities.  It has also crossed over into Liberia and Sierra Leone.  A few in Liberia have died of it and there are many suspect cases that have not yet been confirmed.  It is very contagious.  Be in prayer, Ebola could potentially become an epidemic killing 1000’s.

Prayer requests:  Pray for Liberia, for a great revival to sweep through the country.  Pray for a healthy church in every village in our generation.  Pray for our WSL team that we will have the purity, strength and God given wisdom to accomplish His mission.

Thank you for your prayers, donations and encouragement,

kim
