Living in the Miraculous!

This is a testimony and confirmation that the hand of our Sovereign Lord is upon us, going before us, guiding, and directing us.

We have been praying and preparing for years to have indigenous missionary teams working and living in all 6 unreached tribes of Liberia. A donation was made to fund one of the teams. The team was picked and trained. It was time to go.

One morning, weeks before, as I was in the presence of our Lord, I was praying that He would show us our team’s residence, our new base, in this unknown land. He shared Deuteronomy 12 with me:

Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains... Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their Asherah poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods... You are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go... There, in the presence of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you... [Go] to the place the Lord your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name... And there rejoice before the Lord your God.”

Solomon Dweh and I arrived in Voinjama on September 10, Wednesday afternoon, wet, muddy, bruised, sick, sore, and filled with joy. We had spent a week on the road on motorbike (3 of those days were spent at the bank). Our mission in Voinjama was to find a base for our team. The indigenous missionary team’s mission is to infiltrate two resistant unreached tribes with our Lord’s Gospel. As we entered the city, I saw a fenced-in compound with apartments in it. I pointed it out to Solomon saying, “We need a place like that. It’s perfect!”

I wrote this the following day, our first full day, in the morning while I was in the presence of our Lord:

“Thursday morning, I open my Bible to this passage:

Deut. 6:10-11, “And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities that you did not build, and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig.”

Lord, I’m filled with the deep joy of Your presence. I sense your pleasure in our unity. I ask for nothing more in life. I rest in knowing that, seeking nothing else, fully content, satisfied, in peace, no worry, no fret, or anxiety. Thank You!!

My joy is our unity, walking with You in Your service. I love the risk, battles, even the sufferings and hardships. It is an expression of my faith, love, and gratitude. I love being a living sacrifice. I love sacrifice. I love walking in the light given not knowing what will be next. I walk in blindness knowing the Light Giver sees all, knows all, and is Sovereign. That knowledge and past confirmations is enough for me.”

That morning, filled with the Holy Spirit, I knew our Sovereign Lord had it all worked out. I knew, unbeknownst to the owner, that our Lord had built a place for us and that it was waiting for us.

A couple hours later, Solomon Dweh started to search for the mission base prepared for us by our Lord. His first stop was the property I pointed out. There was only one family there and they were moving out in two days. Solomon contacted the owner (by phone because he was stuck in the mud while trying to come to town). The owner agreed to rent the compound to us for $150 a month. Praise God!! That is an example and confirmation of the Lord ‘s Sovereign Hand upon us!

Genesis 12:1, “The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is also our God. He hasn’t changed. His heart and His purposes are the same. What our Lord sacrificed the life of His Son for, we also are to sacrifice our lives for, having the same heart and purpose.

Please, continue to celebrate and unite with us in prayer.

The above report is made possible by a united sacrificial team here and abroad.  Only in the unity of us all can the above be a reality and even increase.  Looking at the above report you see that we are busy.  We have spread across this country and into the neighboring countries where we train, disciple and church plant.

We have huge praises!!!  I sent out a request for fasting and prayers two weeks ago.  These are the immediate results of our requests:

  • We prayed for increased funding for our Capemont County indigenous missionary team.  Prayer request answered!
  • We prayed for increased funding for our Ivory Coast team.  Prayer request answered!
  • We prayed for the funding of our third indigenous missionary team to 2 unreached tribes.  Prayed for $14,000 received $15,000.  Prayer request answered!
  • We prayed that we would get permission to use the building adjacent to us to use for our Bible Institute.  We needed extra classroom space and guest rooms.  Prayer request answered!

PRAISE GOD! Every item requested during our fast and prayer was immediately answered as affirmative.  This is a huge blessing and confirmation for all of us as His united team.

Testimony:  One of our satellite teams just sent us this report.  They went to a village that was having their animistic, demonic society initiation of the young girls.  This initiation is very brutal and leaves scars physically and emotionally often including female genital circumcision.  It includes the inviting of demons to reside in them.  When our team arrived, they were told to leave.  They appealed to the chief and elders and were given permission to teach.  They taught on Heaven and Hell.  The result was 9 confessing Christ as their Savior and 4 baptisms.  This is common and will continue as we are able to send teams into the strongholds of our enemy.  When we show up in fearless faith the result is lasting fruit.

Advancing: In September, we should have our indigenous missionary team to Lofa County in place.  They will be working with the Maninka and Mandingo unreached Muslim tribes.  On September 4th, our missionary team leader, Solomon, and I will be going to Voinjman in Lofa County to find the place our Lord has prepared for our housing.  It will take four days on bike on bad, dangerous muddy roads.  We expect to be there a couple weeks introducing ourselves to the churches and the village leaders of the unreached tribes.

Our third missionary team will move onto our base and start training to be sent.  They should be in place in November.  They will go to the Bandi and Mende tribes of Gbapolu County.  This year, Lord willing, we will have a Wordsower team living and ministering to all 6 unreached tribes of Liberia.

More praise, unexpectedly Peter and Johanna have traveled here from Sierra Leone.  Peter has attended our classes before but this time he returned with his wife.  They came with great cost, all the money they owned, and sacrifice.  They were 5 days on the road experiencing the mud and rain of Liberia.  They will stay with us for 2 months to finish all our Bible Institute classes.  Our plan is when they return, in October, a team of two will go with them to establish a base in Sierra Leone.  There are others near them, in Sierra Leone, that have also sacrificed to attend our school.  We are confident that our Lord has compelled them to come and that this is His timing for us to enter Sierra Leone.  They have 11 unreached tribes of over 1 million that need to hear the gospel and be introduced to our Lord and Savior.  The tribe we are looking at is in the town of Makeni.  It is the center of the Temne-Banta Muslim tribe.  Joshua Protect states that there are no known Christians in this tribe… well not yet 😊!  Remember that our Lord has commanded His Church to Go, make disciples of all nations, to baptize them and teach them.  Let me know if our Lord puts a burden on your heart to participate in reaching them.

Our base:  The 3-minute video below is titled, “A Day in the Life of Wordsower Liberia”.  It shows a typical day on our Zwedru base.  We are an active community.  On a typical day, when our school is in session, we will have 70-100 coming and going on our base.  Cooks prepare food for 80.  Wordsower Bible institute is in operation 3 weeks a month and will have 40-70 students.  The cooking team and teachers will be serving the students.  Our press team will be printing, others will be putting manuals together and use the glue binder, or packing boxes to be shipped throughout Liberia or to Ivory Coast.   Dental patients as well as our optical patients will be coming and going.  Always people come for medical assistance, they come for malaria treatments or wound management or to get assistance for the cost of medicine.  The suffering of poverty destroys joy and hope.  They come looking for work or to get help with school fees, rent, food, funeral expenses, transport, etc.  Others come to purchase Bibles or other Christian reference books from our bookstore or to get additional Bible training lessons for teaching and preaching in their churches.  Missions are always going out or coming in as the mechanics frantically try to keep up with bike repair demands.  Small group classes are on base every day.  They come for literacy, missionary preparation, discipleship, children Bible class or trauma healing.  Children are typically considered a nuisance or are unseen in the community but not on our base.  The children find safety, a bite to eat, love, sports and are noticed.   They love band aids, ointment, placebos, playing in my bedroom with the box filled with toys, coloring, or just to be on some one’s lap.  The soccer ball is available and often must be replaced from wear.  Yard maintenance is always available for those looking for work.  Spiritual leaders will come from the bush, from several counties, to stay a couple days before returning.  We are a hub of continuous activity.  Our mission is to bring Christ, His gospel, to Liberia and Ivory Coast. All these activities are tools, weapons, used to accomplish our Lord’s purpose for His Church.

The picture below comes from our Ivory Coast base, in August they had a training.  The need of training disciples and church leaders is huge.  They want to be trained but have little access to training.  The picture below is of their Level 2 class, disciples making disciples. They were overwhelmed when showed up to 125 attend the one week class.  We have a vision and everything we do is to assist us in accomplishing the vision.  Our vision is to strengthen His Church and to reach the unreached tribes with His Church united and participating.

The pictures below are of our Capemont base one week training.  They had almost 100 attend the class.  They are in the middle of the unreached Muslim Vai and Goal tribes.  2 women in attendance came in Muslims and came our Christians.

Participate with us in praise and prayer:
  • Praise:  Thank our Lord for answered prayer! We are full of praise and gratitude!!
  • Pray:  We feel that our Lord has opened the door for us to enter Sierra Leone.  We hope to have a base established there this year.  The cost to establish a base is about $5,000 and $1,500 to operate it each month.  To start and run a base for 6 months it would cost $14,000.  Pray our Lord will provide the funds.
  • Pray: For our team in Ivory Coast.  The church there is so corrupt, cold and hardhearted. Also, they have 36 unreached tribes of 7 million.
  • Pray:  For us as two of us are going to Lofa County to find the base our Lord has prepared for us.  The trip is long, hard and dangerous.
  • Pray: Please pray for our safety as we continue to boldly and fearlessly march into and live within the strongholds of Satan to, “snatch others from the fire and save them.” Jude 1:23.
