Refugees

Our neighboring country, the Ivory Coast, has fought two civil wars since 2002. The first ware started in 2002. The second war started in 2011. In 2011, over 250,000 Ivorians sought refuge in Liberia. The United Nations set up refugee camps throughout Liberia. Today, over 200,000 of these refugees have returned to their homes in the Ivory Coast. Since the beginning of the second civil ware, our field leaders have been going into these camps preaching, teaching, evangelizing, discipling, and starting churches. Many refugees have attended the Bible Institute. As they return home to the Ivory Coast, they take the Gospel with them and are starting churches. Within the next two years, we plan on opening our first church planting base in the Ivory Coast.
