June 2018 Monthly Report

Our Mission is to see a healthy church in every village of Liberia. It takes many weapons to fight and win a war. Wordsower Liberia has many weapons:

This month we did twenty baptisms.

Our teams go to the villages on motorbikes. This month twenty-seven missions were sent to forty villages in five different counties. When we go to these villages, we do evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and pastoral training. A mission can be out for several days.

We also did two-day trainings in three counties. Many are unable to attend our school, so we send teams out to do trainings in their local area. These trainings are designed for spiritual leaders and pastors.

We have an hour radio broadcast every day which presents the Gospel and teaches scripture.

We have distributed hundreds of thousands of bibles in over 1,000 villages and have handed out many audio Bibles. These audio Bibles are installed on small memory chips in their dialects that can be used in phones and music players.

Our Wordsower Bible Institute completed a two-week, Level 1 English class. Thirty-seven people attended the class and thirty-five received certificates.  The Bible Institute trains the students in Bible doctrine, discipleship, starting churches, and becoming missionaries.

The second largest killer in Liberia is dirty water. This month we installed 108 water filter systems in remote village homes that were previously drinking dirty water. We also followed-up 477 homes in which we previously distributed filters. Thousands of people are now drinking clean water because of our distribution. Every home visit by our filter teams includes evangelism and discipleship.

Our dentist treated sixteen patients and extracted eighteen teeth. We have the only dentist in a five-county region.

We are commanded by our Lord throughout scripture to take His Gospel of Salvation into all the earth. This assignment from our Lord to His church is so that all will hear His Gospel and have an opportunity to receive salvation. Unfortunately, we haven’t done so well according to several sources (they are listed below). We, His church, have reached 6,876 people groups, but there are still approximately 7,000 people groups that have not been reached.  That is over 3 billion people that have not had the gospel presented to them and do not know who Jesus Christ is. Today, there is one missionary for every 216,300 unreached peoples and one missionary for every 400,000 unreached Muslims.

Liberia has sixteen people groups, five of which are still considered unreached. Our Wordsower Bible Institute is preparing spiritual leaders and training others to go as missionaries. Our goal is to have indigenous missionary teams living among some of these tribes this year. Hopefully all five unreached groups will have a local missionary by the end of 2019.

We have already been working in Ivory Coast where seven million people in thirty-six unreached tribes live. By the end of this year, our prayer is to spy out the land of Nigeria. Nigeria has ninety-five unreached tribes totaling fifty-nine million people who have not yet had the Gospel presented to them.

Our assignment looks overwhelming, immense and impossible!  But, praise God, we will do it! It will be accomplished!!  In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said to Peter, “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” He also said, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Mt 24:14).

Watch this short, four-minute video about His church (US!) reaching the unreached people groups of the world.  Please take time to watch it.  https://vimeo.com/228755241

Participate with us in prayer:

  • Pray for more workers – an obedient army that will go to the unreached… Maybe that would be you.
  • Pray that we will have indigenous missionary teams in all the unreached tribes of Liberia.
  • Pray for a great move of the Holy Spirit to sweep through Liberia.
  • Pray that we, Wordsower Liberia leaders, will be filled with the Holy Spirit and fearlessly advance and spread the gospel.

100% of all donations go to the mission. None is used for administration. Tax-deductible receipts will be sent each January.
