Wordsower Bible Institute Mobile Team

Our Wordsower Bible institute teaches two-week classes on our main base. The Mobile Team travels throughout Liberia teaching one-week classes. We have 4 levels: Level 1 is the basic doctrines of scripture, level 2 is about disciples making disciples, level 3 is how to start a church and level 4 is how to go as a missionary. Our Mobile team just returned; they were on the road for 2 months. Below is a 3-minute video of their experiences:

Testimonies of Disciples 

Testimony #1

Pynes Town, in the past, was one of the most powerful Animistic strongholds of Satan in Liberia. The first time I went there three men kept following me, like shadows. I was there for a few days, handing out blue Gideon pocket Bibles, and teaching scripture. During my time there these three men, voluntarily, became my personal servants, making sure I had food, water, and all other needs met. We became friends. Returning often, I started discipling them and others. During one of the discipling sessions, I asked them, why they had been following me so closely? One of them spoke up and said, “Before you came, one of us had a dream. The dream was of a white man coming to our town and distributing little blue Bibles. A voice in the dream said, ‘follow him.’ We had been looking and waiting for you.” Today, Pyne and Shadrack have started churches within the demonic strongholds of this region. The other, Moses, runs our printing press, goes out on missions and builds church buildings for the churches we have started. Our Lord said, “I myself will go before you, leveling mountains and hills. I will break down bronze gates and smash their iron bars. I will give you treasures from dark, secret places; then you will know that I am the LORD.” Isa 45:2-3.
 
I used the word “past,” when speaking about the stronghold of Satan in Pynes Town. We have never entered an Animistic stronghold of Satan and not seen the foundation of that region falter. Never have we entered a churchless Animistic stronghold and not been able to form a fellowship of believers.

   

Testimony #2

Before Wordsower met Sherman Teoh he was a drunkard, drug addict, as well as an idol worshipper. He was part of a group referred to as Devil Dancers. Their spiritual head, the Devil, will dress in forest costumes and his Devil Dancers will follow him around the town barefoot. In the process, they will kill and eat the towns livestock to feed themselves. They will be carrying whips, machetes, and clubs, and shot guns to defend the Devil. They have an alter and worship demons in a secret place of the forest, called The Zoe Bush.
    Sherman became a Christian through the evangelistic efforts of one of our Wordsower disciples, and later became the assistant pastor of the first church that we started, in Solo Town. Later he backslid and was involved in a tragic motorbike accident. His leg was broken multiple times, his hip and shoulder were badly damaged. After more than 8 months in the hospital he was released, a broken, limping, handicapped man. In the process his wife left him because of the disability. Sherman was very much discouraged, depressed and felt totally abandoned. After Sherman’s accident, Wordsower mission teams visited him many times to encourage, teach, give vision and hope. He attended the Wordsower Bible Institute and graduated. Later Sherman became one of the teachers of our Bible Institute.
    Today, Sherman Teoh is our Wordsower Bible Institute principal and is the secretary of our Caring Committee. He visits the bank twice a week to preach and teach the customers. Sherman also serves as the general secretary and Sunday School teacher of a local church. Sherman is now the Wordsower Bible Institute principal. 

Testimonies from our bases

The testimonies below come from our indigenous missionary bases. These bases are strategically located in the midst of resistant, unreached tribes. In the regions of our bases are towns and villages that have never had churches. Within these Satanic strongholds, we are seeing salvations. We then baptize, disciple, and start churches. These are only a few of many testimonies we receive every month.

From our indigenous missionary team in Gbarpolu County:

“Medina is the stronghold of Muslims in Gbarpolu county. Our Wordsower team visited the town to evangelize. We were stopped by the imam. He said it would be over his dead body before the gospel would ever be preached in his town!!! As long he lives, he said, no gospel will ever be preached in his town. I said to him, why do you prophesy against yourself. A few months later he became sick and died. Since his death we have shown evangelistic films. We regularly send teams into Medina to share the gospel. A fellowship of believers is forming.” 

“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32

In another town called Manowelleh, one of our field leaders, James, has a similar story. The first time we arrived in the town, the elder rejected us. According to their tradition, the elder is the owner of the town, and whatever he says is final. He told us, “I need no gospel in this town!! Only over my dead body will you be allowed to enter!! A few days later he got sick and died.  We now have two churches in the town and the Christians are plenty.

“I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Matthew 16:18

From our indigenous missionary team in Sierra Leone:

     “Our Lord touched the heart of a Muslim named Saidu.  He traveled 10 miles to come to us. His request was for us to go down to his village with the gospel. Saidu said that the village has had a church building since 1964. The pastor died in 1982. Since than there has been no one to pastor the church. In the past the Christians and their activities were abundant even though they were persecuted and in danger. But now, they are turning back to becoming Muslims, due to the lack of a trained leader, and have abandonment the church. He appealed to us on behalf of the church and the entire village to come and help reawaken the church. He was asked, why a Muslim would come to us with such a request. His answer was that it will be good for their village. 
     We believe that God sent Saidu to us and that He wants to do great things in the village through this Muslim. Immediately we went to the village and had a town meeting. We have started church services, are encouraging the Christians and are doing trainings.”
     I think of this Muslim, Saidu, from an unreached tribe. Obviously, our Lord compelled him to come and is using him. Surely, his salvation will be soon. These verses came to mind:

“I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me. 
To a nation that did not call on my name, 
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.” Isaiah 65:1

“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,” 
and, “In the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘children of the living God.” Romans 9:25-26

0 - Optical clients, 10 gasses service, 1 client sent to see specialist at the public hospital

Our on-site leaders and the donations of churches and individuals from abroad are bringing in a great harvest. We need the unity of us all, His Church, to accomplish our Lord’s command to reach the world. Thank you for your active love and faith. Thank you for sacrificing with us.

Pray: Against the plans and advancement of the jihadists.
Pray: For increased donations so that we may continue to advance into unreached tribes.
Pray: For our indigenous missionary teams, that they will continue to fearlessly, boldly and sacrificially advance the gospel.
Pray: As we prepare to create and send another indigenous missionary team to the Muslim unreached tribes of Sierra Leone.
Pray: For us we march into and live within the strongholds of Satan to, “snatch others from the fire and save them.” Jude 1:23.
Pray: “Finally, our friends, pray for us that the Lord's message may continue to spread rapidly 
and be received with honor, just as it was among you. Pray also that God will rescue us from 
wicked and evil people; for not everyone believes the message.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2.
